Sophocles’ Palamedes (S.65)

According to the early epic Cypria
Palamedes was drowned by Diomedes and Odysseus
while fishing

The Fragment…

he who discovered
the cleverest ways of passing time
after our struggle with the waves:
draughts and dice,
a pleasant remedy against idleness
